On February 1, 2011, my new CD "Hungry Ghosts" was released internationally to great critical acclaim (see a few of the reviews on the Home page). The CD has already cracked the top 20 on several college radio stations in North America, is in heavy rotation on others, and is receiving airplay across the UK. In January and February, I was interviewed on LA Talk Radio, Music World Radio (UK), Leith FM (Scotland), Pulse radio (Ireland) with more radio interviews coming. Several glowing reviews have been published, as well as print and video interviews. To show my appreciation, I am offering a FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD OF "Pas de Deux," a track from "Hungry Ghosts." To receive the code needed for the download, send me an email at passingphasemusic@gmail.com with "free download" in the subject heading. That's all.

I will be releasing another CD this summer. This CD  consists of longer, experimental/ambient/electronica/psychedelic/dreamscapes/sound sculptures.  The  title is "Wu Wei," which is the Taosit concept of 'no effort."  I did all of the recording and mixing in my home studio. Mastering was done by Jon Astley in London.

I have been most fortunate to work with two music legends  on "Hungry Ghosts" and "Wu Wei."

My mixing engineer on "Hungry Ghosts" (I mixed "Wu Wei" in my studio) was Simon Humphrey.  Simon  has worked with ABBA, Jeff Beck, Marc Bolan, Argent,  the Clash, XTC, David Byrne, Tom Verlaine,  the Beach Boys, Hans Zimmer, as well as mixing Culture Club's second album, including "Karma Chameleon," among many others in his stellar career. I am happy to say that Simon and I have become dear friends, and we plan on working together again soon.

Mastering both CDs  in London was the legendary engineer/producer  Jon Astley.  Jon has produced, engineered or remastered a veritable 'who's who' of music greats, including: The Eagles, Joan Armatrading, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, The Who (he produced "Who are You"),  Roger Daltrey, Debbie Harry, Teenage Fan Club, Pete Townshend, and remastered Led Zeppelin,  John Mayall, all 8 ABBA CDs, and George Harrison's solo records, including the masterpiece, "All Things Must Pass." This is just a partial list from his massive portfolio. Check his website (linked) for more information about Jon's remarkable career. I spent an afternoon with Jon in his home/studio in London on 13 August. We listened to my material, drank tea (of course) and reminisced about people we have worked with. The house used to belong to Pete Townshend. When we were talking about The Who, Jon got up and returned with two boxes containing the ORIGINAL master tapes for The Who's classic "Who's Next" which he placed on my lap for me to look at. Holding these pieces of rock history and reading original notes written by Pete Townshend and Glyn Johns in 1971 was a thrill (one of my favorite albums)!!

I am grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to work with these giants, assuring my new CDs sound superb-- I only hope my material is up to their standards!

The CDs will are available internationally. They will both contain exquisite booklets of original art made by my team of intergalactic artists. For updates, see my homepage (here), Myspace and Facebook.
